Booklet SYM Don Bosco 2015

Dear all,

welcome to SYM Don Bosco 2015!! In these days we thank God for the gift of the life of Saint John Bosco, as we cele- brate the bicentenary of his birth in those places where he lived and where he received the charisma which today we humbly try to incarnate. Some of you have just visited the native places of Saint Maria Domenica Mazzarello in Mornese, while others decid- ed to come earlier in Turin and serve as Volunteers in order to prepare the welcome for the participants at their arrival, and still others are celebrating this feast in their home coun- try and will join us in the common prayer. Many of you made a long journey to be here in Turin today, but all of you, near and far, you’re not here by chance. The Lord made use of a personal invitation so that we might dis- cover what is the deeper message that the life of Don Bosco is saying to each one of us personally. We are here in order to go back home with a renewed heart.

The theme of our gathering – Like Don Bosco, With the Young, For the Young – will offer us the opportunity to share, deepen and look at the future of the experience of the Salesian Youth Movement. Such a theme will strengthen the identity of a growing movement already spread over all the continents according to the basic assumption of “doing well to our own companions”. This booklet contains material that could help you to exam- ine in depth the program and the theme of our gathering, to participate in the Eucharist, to prepare yourself for the Reconciliation, to sing and pray, to discover the places we’re going to visit in Turin, on the way towards Colle Don Bosco. Make good use of it!

May this week be as a spiritual itinerary so that you will return back home with a renewed and generous heart,
